Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Puerto Progreso is fast becoming a favorite tourist destination.  The port boosts the longest pier in the world, more than four miles long!   Cruise ships visit  Progreso no less than three times each week, as the cruisers enjoy the beautiful beaches and many restaurants along the Malacon.

Pelicano's Restaurant is a favorite of the locals as well as the tourists.  Pelicano's full service bar is famous for their icy cold fruit-topped margaritas, and the beer is the coldest in town. When it comes time to eat, Pelicano's Restaurant has a wide range of specialties

Breakfast items start as low as $3.00

For breakfast (desayuno), you may want to try the delicious Huevos Motulenos (eggs Motul style), a dish which originated in the Yucatan.  This dish consists of a tortilla covered with refried beans and a fried egg, then smothered with tomato sauce, peas, chopped ham and shredded cheese.  Or perhaps Chilaquiles de Pollo, red (rojo) or green (verde).

Whet your appetite with a seafood cocktail such as shrimp, oyster, octopus, or the Return to Life!  Ceviches include shrimp, snail, octopus, fish, or mixed (mixto).

Lunch or dinners range from $4.00 to $30.00 for Pelicano’s special seafood barbeque.
